The question arises on how social media could act as a driving force in promoting the Leave Campaign of Brexit? To contribute to this big and broad question, the study aims to look specifically at how contents and social sphere in social media being composed and constructed to increase the popularity of the Leave Campaign. The study will also discuss the theory of reinforcement in correlation with people and social media as a ‘social sphere’. With unavoidable limitations, this study could only serve as an insight on how social media has a role in the increase of Brexit popularity. This study requires more systematic research on people’s behavior as well as the involved actors like politicians and news content owners inside social media. Read more
This research study is aimed to examine the effectiveness of the current communication strategies of DLMI in raising TVET awareness among upper secondary students. Following the concept of Social Marketing theory, the communication strategies were examined through the Hierarchy of Effect conceptual framework by looking at students' cognitive effect, affective effect and their conative effect among students from the high school targeted by DLMI and students from the high school which was not. The study adopted quantitative research method by using a survey questionnaire as the main tool to collect primary data from 228 upper secondary students from Bak Touk and Chom Pou Vann high school. The findings have shown that the students from the targeted school tended to have better knowledge, understanding and perception toward TVET than students from the non-targeted school. However, even though among the students who have a better understanding and perception on TVET, not many of them tended to be interested in pursuing their study or career on TVET. The findings of the study suggested that the lack of knowledge on the skill and labour needs in the country, the misperception on the merit of the qualification of the TVET degree and the influence from family (parents) could be the main factors. As part of a research project on ‘Perception of Sexual Harassment at Cambodia’s Higher Education,' the findings of the study has illustrated an interesting pattern which are needed to discuss. From the FGDs and IDIs which have been conducted by the researchers, there is quite a pattern of Exhibitionism that up to 4 FGDs and 3 IDIs. The successful of Korean Pop culture has been marked in over continents in the world. It was considered as the world phenomenon which has pulled most youngsters’ attention toward the act of dancing, singing and acting (drama) that were somehow strange from their tradition, culture and custom. Moreover, It was also considered as the great Korean investment that Korea has made throughout the entire world in this past decade. At that mean time, Cambodia was one among the countries in Southeast Asia that was firmly influenced by the Korean Pop culture. It was flown into Cambodia by several kinds of factors which involved many types of media and their contents of marketing. From the 2nd to the 7th of September, we went to 3 provinces such as Kompong Thom, Preah Vihear, and Siem Reap province to conduct several interviews including key informant interview and focus group discussion with commune chief, community leader and villagers. Our purpose is to study on “How Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) be further improved to maintain or enhance its contribution to climate change adaption and food security.” Our first research location is in Prasat commune, Santuk district, Kompong Thom province. People in this area depend on fishery more than 50% as they live closely to two natural lakes which seize more than 77 hectares. Beside depending on fishery, these local people also do farming, growing crop, making palm sugar, and making other handicraft materials. In early 2007, these local people in four villages formed themselves as one community which was called Beong Tourk Beong Kouy community. The community goal is to conserve their natural lakes by preserving fishery habitat, and patrolling the illegal fishing act. Read more

Research Notebook - Internal Communication Assessment (Case Study)
The topic that I would like to study is “Ineffective Internal Communications Could Affect Company Branding – Case Study Puthisastra University”. The reason I chose to study on this topic because branding is every important for each and every institution, organization, corporate, and company. Without strong and powerful brand, they cannot compete with the current market as they are now in an open and free market. And there are many factors that can affect their brand development and one of the main factors that I would like to study is Internal Communications within the company itself. As I believe that strong and powerful Internal Communications is one the important element that every type of company need to build in order to succeed in their brand development strategy. I chose Puthisastra University to be my case study, because as I have been observing its branding goal, to be the leading university in Cambodia, is not very successful. And if we look at their internal communications workflow, it is not quite good as I did some interviews with employees there. So I decided to conclude my hypothesis that Puthisastra University brand development could be affected by its ineffective internal communication.
